| President's Message 09 | Curling Season is Almost Here! The end of August draws mixed emotions for many people. On one hand, it is definitely a sign that summer is coming to a close. On the other hand, it means that curling season will soon be here and we can renew friendships, or possibly rivalries, with our fellow club-mates. The upcoming season promises to provide a friendly mix of the two! I feel privileged to be selected as the 31st President of the Tartan Curling Club. I am excited by both the energy and ideas of our new General Manager, Scott Comfort, as well as the strength and diversity of this year’s Board of Directors. We are committed to make the Tartan Curling Club the finest club in Saskatchewan, and strive to ensure that every curler regardless of age or calibre will enjoy the time they spend at our club. Under the direction of our General Manager, the Tartan introduced some unique and exciting new features last year, and we will continue to build upon these in the upcoming season. Glow Curling was very well received last year. As a result, we hope to offer even more of these events throughout this season. Thanks to the Valley Girls, the quality of food and food service now available at the Tartan is second to none among our peers. Our lounge continues to be a friendly, comfortable environment for post-game reflections and celebration. Our Pro Shop will continue to offer quality curling equipment and apparel at very competitive pricing. I sincerely hope that, as members, you noticed the many positive changes that occurred last year. Our goal this year is to build upon the success we experienced from each of these last season. On behalf of our General Manager and the Board of Directors, I’d like to extend you a warm welcome, or in most cases, welcome back to the Tartan for the 2009 / 2010 curling season.
